Bodywork Types

Zero Balancing

"...Zero Balancing is a powerful body-mind therapy that uses skilled touch to address the relationship between energy and structures of the body.  Followng a protocol that typically lasts 30-45 minutes, the practitioner uses finger pressure and gentle traction on areas of tension in the bones, joints and soft tissue to create fulcrums, or points of balance, around which the body can relax and reorganize."

"A Zero Balancing session leaves you with a wonderful feeling of inner harmony and organization."

Holistic Swedish Massage

Holitic Swedish Massage uses gentle, gliding, kneading, rolling, and pummelling movements to relax the soft tissues of the body, stimulate circulation, hasten the healing of injuries, reduce scar tissue adhesions and leave you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.  The practioner typically uses an oil or lotion to administer these techniques in a mindful, meditative way that treats the client as a whole.

Deep Tissue

A Deep Tisssue massage usually focuses on a specific area that has strongly held tensions.  The pratictioner will warm and relax the muscles with gliding and kneading strokes before sinking deeper and working out the knots with fingertip pressure, thumb-rolling, heel of hand pressure, and friction.  These deeper strokes are typically slower to allow the tissues (fascia) to melt and stretch.

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation.  The client will remain clothed and relax on a table while the practitioner uses gentle laying of hands at various postions on the body in order to help increase the flow of energy in the client.  Reiki is very gentle and non-intrusive and leaves the client feeling calm and refreshed.
